Maxon aux scelles

Mâcon “Aux Scellés”

This great white wine is made from Chardonnay grapes. It comes from a parcel of schistous, variegated clay soil. The name “Aux Scellés” comes from the locality where the vines are located, in the village of Loché in the Mâconnais region of southern Burgundy. The vines are around 15 years old. A pale gold color. This wine is reminiscent of spring, with its sweet scents of lime blossom and chamomile, its charming aromas of ripe, fresh yellow fruit. On the palate, it’s pure indulgence; full-bodied and fleshy, underlined by a fine vivacity, a wine full of juicy, fresh fruit.

Mâcon-Vinzelles “Au Corlier” 

This great white wine is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the village of Vinzelles, in the Mâconnais region of southern Burgundy. The name “Au Corlier” comes from the cadastral site. The vines are around 70 years old. The wine is a brilliant gold-green color. The nose is complex, with notes of narcissus and lemon. On the palate, fresh aromas of yellow fruit and citrus, dense yet distinguished, fresh and persistent.

Mâcon-Loché “Les Longues Terres”

This great white wine is made from Chardonnay grapes. These parcels have clay, limestone and marl soils. The climat name comes from the cadastral site in the village of Loché in the Mâconnais region of southern Burgundy. The vines are around 30 years old. Perfectly balanced between fatness and freshness. Its apricot finish gives it elegance and length on the palate. Intense scents of acacia, honeysuckle, vanilla and toasted toast on the nose. A brilliant pale gold color.

This great white wine is made from the Chardonnay grape. It comes from a parcel of schistous soil in the village of Fuissé in the Mâconnais region of southern Burgundy. The vines are over 50 years old. Mâcon-Fuissé reveals a brilliant golden yellow color. On the nose, a floral aroma enhanced by notes of acacia honey and vanilla. On the palate, it’s an explosion of flavors, with well-melted oak, a fine, lacy structure and a fresh, long finish.

Saint-Véran “La Cour des Bois”

This exceptional white wine is made from Chardonnay grapes grown on the shallow clay and limestone soils of Chânes, in the Mâconnais region of southern Burgundy. The 55-year-old vines are farmed organically, using natural treatments and biodynamic methods to preserve the terroir. After meticulous vinification in French oak barrels and a minimum 11-month ageing period, this Saint Véran reveals a pale, luminous color. On the nose, notes of pear, white peach and wild flowers enchant, while the palate offers a lively attack followed by a balanced structure and a refined finish with delicate bitters. This wine embodies the elegance and authenticity of great Burgundy wines.

This great white wine is made from the Chardonnay grape variety. Located in the village of Chânes in southern Burgundy, in the Mâconnais region to be precise, its climat name comes from its cadastral lieudit. This parcel has shallow, south-facing clay and limestone soil. The vines are 80 years old or more. Golden yellow in color, it offers up a bouquet of acacia flowers and mango, then reveals a fresh, mineral touch on the palate, with lingering flavors of lemon and flint: this wine is not lacking in assets.

Saint-Véran “Au Clos du Château »

This parcel is located in Southern Burgundy in the Mâconnais region, in the village of Davayé. Produced from the Chardonnay grape variety, its soil is very clayey and chalky, and it faces due south. The name Climat comes from the cadastral site “Au Clos”, above the magnificent Château de Davayé. The vines here are on average 50 years old. This Saint-Véran has a bright, limpid, slightly golden yellow color. On the nose, a fresh, slightly woody note reminiscent of menthol, with a fine, toasty, empyreumatic reduction. On the palate, a lovely drinkability – minerality linked to a perfect balance between volume, woodiness and acidity. Elegant, long aftertaste, with a nice retro olfactory return of freshness.

Pouilly-Loché 

Situated in Southern Burgundy in the Mâconnais, in the village of Loché, these Chardonnay parcels are planted in clay-limestone soil, partly composed of sandstone and variegated clay. Most of the vines face the rising sun (due east).

The Pouilly-Loché appellation covers a total of 32 hectares, of which the estate owns 13%.

Pouilly-Loché “Le Bourg”

This great white wine is made from the Chardonnay grape variety. Located in the village of Chânes in Southern Burgundy, in the Mâconnais region, the climat name comes from its cadastral lieux-dits. This wine is a blend of two cuvées, Saint-Véran “La Cour des Bois” and Saint-Véran “Le Vallon”. The vines of this vineyard are over 80 years old. The wine has a bright, brilliant golden color, and lovely fruity aromas of lemon and passion fruit, with floral nuances on the nose. With an equally fruity, persistent sapidity, it leaves a pleasant impression of roundness and balance on the palate.

Pouilly-Loché “Vieilles Vignes”

This great white wine is made from Chardonnay grapes. This parcel has deep, very clayey soil (60%) with very little limestone. This cuvée is made from several parcels of land in the village of Loché in southern Burgundy’s Mâconnais region. The vines are 90 years old or more on the whole. Pale gold in color. This cuvée reveals intense aromas of small white flowers, white fruit, fresh butter and toasted hazelnut on the nose. Supple, fresh, mineral, with a touch of fat that rounds out the edges. Elegant and harmonious on the palate.

Pouilly-Fuissé clos scelles

Pouilly-Fuissé “Clos Scellés”

This great white wine is made from the Chardonnay grape, a blend of two cuvées: Pouilly-Fuissé “Clos Reyssié” and Pouilly-Fuissé “Les Scellés”. The plots are located in Fuissé and Chaintré, in southern Burgundy. This wine draws particular elements from the soils that compose it, schist, planted on an east-facing, clayey hillside. The vines are between 50 and 90 years old. “Clos Scellés” has a golden yellow color. On the nose, precise, complex aromas of white flowers, yellow fruit and preserved lemons. On the palate, it’s generous, full-bodied, with crisp, “sweet” fruit, plenty of finesse and a fine mineral finish.

Pouilly-Vinzelles 

This parcel is located in Southern Burgundy in the Mâconnais region, in the commune of Vinzelles. Produced from the Chardonnay grape variety, the soil is clay and limestone. Facing east, in the rising sun, it benefits from the best exposure. The vines are an average of 60 years old. Pouilly-Vinzelles has a bright, limpid golden-yellow appearance. The nose is precise, fine and fresh, with elegance. We have a beautiful expression of white-fleshed fruit such as vine peach, a full and balanced attack, well-balanced and well-structured, leading to a long finish.

Pouilly Fuissé Clos scellés

Mâcon-Village “Un Porc ex Porc”

This parcel is located in southern Burgundy in the Mâconnais region, on the heights of the village of Loché. Produced from the Chardonnay grape variety, the soil is clay and schist. The vines in this vineyard are over 30 years old, and the special feature of this cuvée, which gives it its name, is that pigs were raised on the plot for 2 years, replacing their mechanical tillage tools with their snouts. With its golden-yellow, slightly coppery color, limpid and brilliant. On the nose, floral notes reminiscent of white flowers, with a hint of honey. On the palate, greedy, even crisp sapidity. Powerful mid-palate, with a fine balance between volume, generosity and acidity. Precise, long finish.

Crémant de Bourgogne 

This parcel is located in Southern Burgundy in the Mâconnais at Loché. Produced from the Chardonnay grape variety, it has a clay-limestone soil, with some marl-limestone. The vines are around 15 years old. Golden yellow in color, limpid and brilliant. A very fine fragrance with a woody, slightly toasted note on the nose. Fresh attack on the palate, with fine, dense bubbles. Beautiful overall balance, well-preserved acidity, freshness and complexity. A finish with lots of personality.
